Who we are
STEPS (“we”) runs community events: runs, hikes and socials. We are the controller of the personal data you give us through join-steps.co.uk.
What we collect
When you join or register for a STEP: your name, email address and, if you choose, the town or area you live in. When you send a partner enquiry: your name, email, and any company, phone and message details you include.
Why we use it
To run STEPS: managing your membership, knowing how many people are coming to each event, and contacting you about events you have registered for (legitimate interests). We only send marketing emails about new STEPS and club news if you tick the box to say yes (consent), and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. It is stored with our hosting and database providers in the UK/EU, who process it only on our instructions. Only STEPS organisers can see it.
How long we keep it
For as long as you are a member. If you ask us to delete your details, we will remove them within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, by emailing [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
